Wow, so that race was great. Couldn’t have asked for better weather! I had no real goals other than to not mess up my knee like I did 2 years ago. I wound up running the whole 13.1 miles (in 1hr 51min 40sec) without stopping once! Only slowdowns were to grab water. Felt damn good, but you’ll see the pain on my face in the pics towards the end. Official race pics to come soon. Maybe a full marathon isn’t completely out of the question.Celebrating with a cider (and chaffed armpits and nipples )
Finally bought new fancy running shoes yesterday and ran my first 4.5 miles in them today. My feet don’t hurt like they’ve been with my old ones, or maybe I’m just convincing myself that the purchase was worthwhile. Also, CRAZY fog over Boston today.

BAA half marathon: done. 1hr 55min.

Ran 6 miles today in 85 heat. Positive: ran down the middle of a closed Memorial Drive again. Negative: the Charles River “algae bloom” smells like a wet dog and a wet ferret died in your nose.
Run down the middle of Memorial Drive? Why, yes! I’m not sure why Cambridge closes off a 2 mile stretch every Sunday, but it’s pretty awesome.
New running shoes!
